Halloween Treat: Maltesers Eye Balls

Maltesers Eye Balls

Halloween is one of my favourite holidays as it involves chocolate. Ok, I am just kidding… At least I think so. *squirming on my chair* In any case Halloween truly is one of my favourite holidays. Pumpkins, dressing up and yes, eating chocolate. Obviously we in the UK do not celebrate it as much the folks in the US. I do have very, very fond memories of Halloweens spent on the other side of the pond dressing up too successfully as a geisha at a Halloween party and having nobody recognise me. *How did that happen?!*

Maltesers Eye Balls

This Halloween on top of the usual carving of a pumpkin and roasting pumpkin seeds (A MUST!) I thought to get into the Halloween spirit by making these super easy Maltesers Eye Balls for a spooky chocolate treat. All eyes are on you! Or me!

2. Break 50 gr of white chocolate into pieces and place the pieces into a heat-proof bowl. Melt the white chocolate over boiling water taking care that the bowl does not touch the water. Let the melted white chocolate cool off a little bit. When the white chocolate is not too runny, transfer it to a piping bag and pipe circles on each Malteser.

3. Let the white chocolate circles dry for 10-15 minutes. Break the remaining white chocolate (25 gr) into pieces and place the pieces into a heat-proof bowl. When the white chocolate is completely melted add a few drops of food colouring of your choice and mix well. This make the eye colour for the Maltesers Eye Balls. Let the melted white chocolate cool off a little bit. Then transfer it into a piping bag and pipe a smaller circle on top of the white chocolate circle on half of the Maltesers. Break the milk chocolate into pieces and place the pieces into a heat-proof bowl. Melt the milk chocolate over boiling water taking care that the bowl does not touch the water. Let the melted milk chocolate cool off a little bit. Then transfer it into a piping bag and pipe a smaller circle on top of the white chocolate circle on the remaining half of the Maltesers.
